AMBL League Information and History
Austin Metro Baseball League (AMBL) will be celebrating it's 30th season
in 2019. The 2007 season saw the League grow to 39 Teams and almost 700
ballplayers making it the largest Men's Adult Amateur Baseball League in
Texas with more expansion coming each year. The League is divided into 5
different age brackets (18+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+) so that players can play with
other players of like abilities, competition levels, age similarities, and
of course, common interests. Older Players certainly may play in younger age
brackets if they choose, as many excellent Players in the League do. Players
may also play on multiple Teams so long as they are in different age
Divisions. The season runs from mid-March to mid-August with the
regular season usually consisting of 20-24 games depending on Division. The
top Teams in each Division make the play-offs and all usually play 2 out of
3 game series making sure that the best Team is crowned "Champion". Games are
played on weeknights as well as on weekends on great fields with all of the
above making it a true "Player's League."
The AMBL is affiliated with the Men's Senior/Men's Adult Baseball League
(MSBL/MABL), the National Organization, which has 325 local affiliates,
3,200 Teams, and over 45,000 Members. MSBL/MABL National provides it's
Members with 30 Regional Tournaments, 6 National Tournaments including the
World Series in Phoenix, Arizona in October as well as the Fall Classic in
Clearwater, Florida in November, providing the Eastern half of the United
States Teams the opportunity to also participate in a World Series. Teams
are welcome to participate in both! Austin Metro Baseball League has 5
combined World Series and Fall Classic Championship Teams!
We are very proud to be very active in the community by making many field
improvements to many local fields in the area as well as making donations to
many great causes. Austin Metro Baseball League also started in 2008 putting
on "free" baseball camps in the community for kid's who might not have been
able to attend otherwise and plans on continuing that program. Austin Metro
Baseball League is all about good people and great friendships that all enjoy
playing tough competitive baseball!
